What do friends and family say about a family of three male nurses? Zach said, “The reaction is always positive, but people do find it interesting.” Sam added, “People are initially surprised but it has been very well accepted.”
Maybe the real news here is that this is still seen as news!
Roxanne, guess I linked to the story because I thought it was (still) news, of a sort! Thanks for your thoughts. Jacob
We just can’t pretend that the gender barrier has been broken and men are entering nursing in droves. Not the case at all. Only 5-7% of all nurses are male, so yes, this is news. It’s kind of silly to pretend that it is sort of normal for a man to a nurse and to have his 2 sons follow him into the profession. If you feel that this situation is so common as to be not worth mentioning, then please come up with ten other families where this has occurred. Or even one other family with more than one male nurse as a member.
