We asked the question “If your facility were to make a New Year’s resolution, what would it be?” on our Facebook page yesterday.

Below are some of the responses so far. Is there anything else you might add about your facility?

AMAZING HEALTHCARE

better patient care

maybe respect the staff

best patient safety

excellent mental/emotional health assessment and intervention

Every patient everytime!

i double that for respect for staff

It’s all about what’s best for the patients …

From my point of view….give us all a raise no matter how big or small!

Quality care, NOT Quantity care!!!

Free parking

Be COMPLETELY up on EMR by year end

To get the Drs to improve upon their verbal and written communication to nursing staff and to improve Drs understanding of what is meant by palliative care.

  1. To reward and incentivise the people who actually take care of sick people rather than show up to get paid their 12 hours. You know the saying in Nigeria is if you want to build a house marry a nurse. Or so I have been told. Tired of breaking my back and having arm injurys while people around me refuse to contribute either blantently or in more accepted forms of refusal….I am busy charting. I will be there in a minute – an hour later asking if you need some help now!

  2. Instilling teamwork in the nursing spirit again. I often saw people avoiding helping others instead of working together to make it easier on all. Those are the ones only in it for the money. It’s sad. I work in an office setting as a NP and we all work together to make the day worth finishing. If we didn’t do that, it would make us really hate our jobs. I am also waiting on electronic charting and will be so grateful.
